How Very Pinteresting
It took me a while but a few months ago I finally got Pinteresting.
I was a late starter with Myspace, Bebo, (ahh those were the days) Facebook, Twitter…all the rest so it’s no surprise that I’d be late getting round to this too. being late, in fact late is probably the word I’d use to sum up a good chunk of my life in general.
Anyway, I digress.
After I’d finally got round to Pinterest I fell in love…

Crunchie Malteaser Rocky Road Cake
Apparently Thursday (14th September) was International Chocolate Day. If that wasn’t a fine excuse for creating the most chocolate laden Rocky Road cake in the history of the universe, I’m not sure what is…

Why bother being organised at all!
Welcome to my blog…pull up a chair, have a biscuit and enjoy (I hope)…
Getting ready for school; did we miss anything?
As the kids have been in it for nearly 6 weeks; our house is now pretty much full of crap. I haven’t had a chance to clear it up. Trying to work, cook, clean, entertain, watch the Olympics (ahem), do more entertaining, craft and god knows what else has taken its toll.

My Son; My Story
Hello.
A spur of the moment thought about 3 months ago was that I wanted to start writing a blog about the story of my life. I enjoy reading a few of my friends blogs, and i enjoy the fact that if people don’t enjoy it; you don’t have to read it…rather than boring everybody on random facebook status updates for people that really don’t care what’s going on in my life. So a family friend, that has a blog and that I really enjoy reading everyday, has told me how to set my own one up… so here go

Running in memory of Harry Lloyd
If everybody donates her just £1 the amount raised will blow through any of our expectations. My aim is to reach an amount that mirrors my busiest ever day here on the blog. That day in August (helped I am sure by the Love All Blogs Showcase) 657 of you visited us and many of you left us beautiful comments on our Dedication to Harry. If all of you sponsored Kate then that money raised not only will be in honour of Harry but will go on to help other families that are going through what we are.

The Puffin Diaries
To Cut or Not to Cut
One of my great parenting dilemmas is how much independence to give my children and are the boundaries set for them or to ensure I feel in control. Today I allowed my son a little bit of independence with which he proverbially hung himself and then I shot him, proverbially, through the heart for doing so.

The Cut and Slice
No, I’m not going under the knife (although I must admit if I had the money I would seriously consider a tummy tuck as 3 kids later I am left with an “overhang”).
The cut and slice is actually a particular type of karate style move that I use in bed (stick with me please, its nothing kinky!).

Pink Stinks
A couple of my Facebook friends have been filling my news feed with their support of campaigns from an organisation known as Pink Stinks. In general some of their campaigns are very good and initially upon reading the site, I thought yeah this is a good cause. However, the more I read, the more I felt as though the whole thing was becoming a little bit “Germain Greer on a mission”.

Little Magic Beans
One Year Milestone
Today is a momentous day in the Bean household. Little Bean is finally an actual age and no longer needs to be quantified in weeks, which her mathematically challenged mother stopped doing when she was about 4 weeks. She is officially one whole year old.
The past year has been alternatively stressful (especially for my poor washing machine which has never been so overworked) and emotional (me when the aforementioned washing machine briefly broke down)

The Absent Father
Today my eldest son turned three years old.
When I think about the fact that he has got to this age, I swell with the pride that only a mother who has had a poorly child can feel.
Big Brother was diagnosed with Oesophageal Atresia when he was born. This meant that he couldn’t swallow, because his Oesophagus ended in a pouch at the top of his chest, instead of carrying on down, unhindered to his stomach.

Die to self?
I used to have this recurring dream that I had been party to a murder. I knew it was a woman, and her body lay in a forest, thickly covered with leaves. The mental picture of this secluded, hidden grave, haunted me. It was so real that at times I would think…just for one second…that it was real.

the Gallery – Beauty
This weeks prompt in The Gallery is Beauty.
We are surrounded by beauty but sometimes we just don’t see it, I love to hunt it out with my camera, capturing the beauty of wildlife, hence the name of this blog.

3 Children and It
I couldn’t live without….
Every now and again, I am astounded by modern technology. Actually, scrap that…..all the time, I am astounded by modern technology. I know that I’m only 40 years old and I’ve started this post sounding more like an 80 year old, but I am seriously in awe of the things at our fingertips these days. I regularly wonder how on earth we coped before certain things were invented. What am I talking about? Google. That’s what!
In 2006, ‘to google’ became a recognised verb by the Oxford English Dictionary;

The Green Line by Polly Farquharson
This book is one that leapt out at us at our local library this week. Initially it was it’s bright green cover that caught my eye but once I’d opened the book up I was grabbed by how, well ‘different’ it is from a lot of other books.
The Green Line takes you along a journey, a walk through a park in Spring, in the voice of a child. This book is not illustrated in the traditional but rather contains photos of things that are seen ‘along the way’.
