Simple Couple
(Sham)Poo Free
I don’t use shampoo. I don’t use conditioners. To be honest I don’t use any hair products, and yet my hair looks, feels and simply is much healthier than when I did.
Hard to believe? There’s more! You see, my crazy practice is slowly spreading through our family.
First, let me explain why I don’t want to use a commercial shampoo ever again.

Little Magic Beans
The Tiger Who Came to Tea
I’ll be honest, Little Bean (11 months and counting) was not a fan. She’s more than a little in love with Hide and Seek Pig at the moment and seems to think a book’s not really worth her time unless it has flaps to open up. Also, although the illustrations are lovely, they’re not quite as bold and beautiful as other more contemporary ones.

Teeny Tiny Tiaras
Today was a glorious day, so we headed for the coast. Of course we expected the roads to be busy and the seaside towns to be even more packed and yes they were. The big advantage we have is that we are only a short drive from the North Antrim Coast. An absolutely stunning section of Northern Ireland, full of seaside towns and World heritage Sites like The Giants Causeway.

3 Children and It
Sibling squabbles
This morning I went to work. I have been looking forward to this day since the last day I went to work, 10 days ago. Before you think it’s because I have the best job in the world, it is merely because the school holidays are beginning to take their toll. As a mother of 3 children ranging from 7 to 12, I have been subjected to 9 consecutive days (just to make it clear, that’s 8am til approx 10pm) of bickering, squabbling, physical violence, viscious name-calling and downright unkind behaviour.

Story of a mum of 4, my lovely biggest boy has Asperger Syndrome
Sleep (or lack of it) and weighted blankets
James has done BRILLIANTLY this week without his sister being here, I’m so proud of him and it’s gone from being a week that I’ve dreaded to one where we’ve actually had a lot of fun. We’ve been to the cinema, to see friends, for long walks, and he’s been in great form – really making me giggle at times.
Sleeping this week hasn’t been nearly as bad as I feared either.

Sunny-day jobs – can you make the most of the sun and still clean the house?!
Sunny-day jobs – can you make the most of the sun and still clean the house?!
With my optimistic hat on, I can smell more sunshine round the corner…!
Obviously when the sun is out, the best thing to do is get as far away from the housework and boring jobs as possible and make the most of the fleeting summer. But there are days when the kids are happiest in their own back garden in the paddling pool, and there are ways to combine sunshine time with ticking a few things off the “to do” list.

Multiple Birth
It was an unplanned pregnancy, given as she had just weaned a second litter of 4, and was booked for sterilisation. She looked fat, depressed and resigned. The realisation that our tarty feline had again succumbed to the charms of next door’s Sooty, was quite a shock. She had escaped outside on one, maybe two, occasions, but only for minutes…surely there had not been time…..No sooner had the news sunk in, when it became evident that labour was probably not far off.

Thank you: The road to recovery
It’s been a hard few days for Hubby and I. It’s not just the physical impact of miscarriage, or even the grief of losing the baby itself, we’ve had to come to terms with the fact that all the things we’d started to plan just aren’t going to happen – certainly not straight away anyway.

The Thrifty Gardener
Organic food is not cheap. In fact we had stopped buying it as although it was good for us it was bad for the budget. Then I decided to grow my own and was amazed at how much I could save…

Beautiful Blogger Award
Well I haven’t been about for a while as you know but I was thrilled when I logged on to Twitter the other night to find that the fabulous Tea & Biscotti had nominated me for the Beautiful Blogger Award. A wonderfully kind gesture and a hugely appreciated one when I have been AWOL for a short while too!

**settles into a comfy spot and starts to remember**
My Hoomans had just bought a House on Wheels, and were having a massive debate abouts whether or not I would be able to go away with them because of my “issues”. I was listening with my paws crossed as I really, really wanted to go.

Monday Mobile
I’ve chosen this photo of a crumpled can of Coca Cola to share in this weeks Monday Mobile because although it’s not a very good photo, it does show that anything can be photographed no matter how useless it seems!

Still and Settled Place
“Still and Settled Place” I believe there is one of these places for us all. Somewhere that you need to go to when times get hard, when things don’t go quite your way or when you just want some peace or time to reflect on a decision you need to make in your life
My point is about finding that place, that place that you just know you can go to no matter what and it will always be the same. It will create a calmness within you that you can’t quite explain or put into words despite the
